We were lucky enough again this year to be able to partner with Grace in the Kitchen and Serious Cheese for another fanastic Discovering Ottawa event last night. The store closed to host a private shopping party for us and the event did not disappoint.
We supplied some delicious wines, particularly a Beringer Cabernet Sauvignon, that our guests enjoyed while browsing the aisles and the new addition to the store. Grace in the Kitchen created a delicious mac & cheese plus some amazing Charcuterie boards, showcasing some of their delicious products from the Serious Cheese department. We gobbled up the following:
- a soft white brie, Magie de Madawaska
- a smokey Smoked Brezain with wonderful texture
- a beautiful Manchego that had a buttery flavour
- and my favourite, a lovely, mouth-watering Gorgonzola Dolce
- the meats were a Coppa, Fennel Salami and a spicy Chorizo…all to die for!
Ok…now that my mouth is watering, let’s move on. The store also highlighted one of its newest products, El Guapo Bitters. Made in New Orleans the store is offering numerous flavours, each with its own unique flavours. We tried the English Tonic and the Cucumber…both SO good. Mix them in a cocktail or simply add to soda water for a refreshing beverage. I picked up a few bottles for stocking stuffers!
Grace in the Kitchen also demonstrated one of their newest…and favourite…products, a Zyliss Spiralizer. Use this spiralizer to make all of the veggie noodles you would like….use with zucchini, carrot, squash, sweet potato…anything! And it is SO affordable at $16.95 plus extremely easy to use. Just check out the video of Carole on our Facebook page…she is a PRO!
We enjoyed ourselves so much…from the food to the wine, the christmas shopping to the demonstrations…fun was had by all. Thank you so much to all who attended and to the team at Grace in the Kitchen.
