Remembrance Day is this Saturday so of course that will top the list of important events in our City this weekend. Please remember to take a two minutes of silence at 11:00 am on Saturday November 11 to honour our veterans and currently serving armed forces.

The World Remembers – Taking place at the Government Conference Centre at 2 Rideau Street and having begun Wednesday, this will run for a full month until November 11. To mark the centenary of World War I, the names of all 680,000 killed in the war will be projected in light on the conference centre in remembrance. Lest We ForgetThe Canadian Film Institute will be giving a free screening of Lest We Forget, which is compilation of World War I images created to remind us of the great loss of life and sacrifice on behalf of our troops over the course of the first world war. Taking place at Richcraft Theatre at Carleton University at 4:00 pm on Saturday.

Remembrance Day Walk – The Ottawa Voyageurs walking club is doing an open walk that will lead to the National War Memorial in time to observe the two minute silence at 11:00 am on Saturday.

Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show – Taking place at the Fieldhouse at Carleton University, the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show takes place on Sunday and is not to be missed. Entrance fee is $10 but for vintage clothing enthusiasts THIS is the place to be. Everything from everyday wear, business, formal and even bridal! Go and find some real treasures!
