The city may be frozen right now but we are due for some warmer weather this upcoming weekend. Our City has lots going on this week and upcoming weekend so be sure to check out one or two of the events we have posted here. Have a great week!

Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro – taking place at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts at 310 St. Patrick Street, tickets range from only $9 to $20. Event dates and times are tomorrow January 25 at 7:30 pm, Friday January 26 at 7:30 pm and Saturday January 27 at 2:00 pm and is being put on by the Ottawa University Opera Company with accompaniment by the Chamber Orchestra. This is a wonderful way to introduce the whole family to the beautiful medium of Opera.

Live Irish Music – also taking place at Saint Brigid’s Centre for the arts on Saturday evening at 7:30 is a FREE event focusing on live Irish music.  Enjoy song and dance as well as refreshments and food! A jam session for all.

Shiverfest – taking place in Manotick Village on Saturday January 27 from 7:30 am to 10:00 am this event celebrates winter! Great for the whole family with a pancake breakfast, children’s activities, a chili cook off and more. It is supposed to a little warmer on Saturday too so if the rain stays away it will be a great day!

The Carleton Cup – this is the ultimate Canadian Triathlon raising money for Cystic Fibrosis taking place Saturday January 27 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Begin with a skate on the canal, then a run through the Byward Market and then a drink at the Aulde Dubliner and Pour House. Register on the website but if you want to go just as a viewer feel free!

Robbie Burns’ Day – lots going on in Ottawa this weekend to celebrate the 127th Robbie Burns’ Day. Show your Scottish pride at one of the events such as Sons of Scotland Dinner or a musical event in honour of the Scottish hero.
