Concert to Celebrate Canada’s 150th – Taking place tonight at 6:30 at the Plant Pool Recreation Centre, the Parkdale Orchestra comprised of 60 musicians will perform the works of several Canadian composers to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.

Manotick Art Show & Sale – The Manotick Art Association’s spring show takes place this weekend. Each $10 ticket includes entry, two glasses of wine and appetizers…sounds like a good deal to us! Don’t miss seeing the beautiful pieces of local Manotick artists.

Art Credo – Taking place on Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church on Elgin and Somerset this event highlighting local artists will run until May 7. Don’t miss the opening weekend. It is absolutely FREE.

Old Home Earth Day Event – Taking  place from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, the Glebe Assocation celebrates Earth Day by sharing their knowledge of keeping older homes energy efficient and sustainable. The event is absolutely free and will take place at the Glebe Community Centre at 175 Third Avenue.

Drive-Up Recycling – participate in Earth Day on Saturday by spring cleaning your garage and backyard by getting rid of old tires for free by dropping them off for proper recycling at Hazeldean Mall in Kanata.
