There are lots of FREE events (or almost free) this weekend in Ottawa and here is our round up of them:
Genealogy: Back to Basics – The Ontario Genealogical Society is hosting two events on Saturday, March 25. From 10:30 to 12:00 a presentation highlighting the wealth of information found in church records and from 1:00 to 3:00 pm David Walker will present his unbelievable genealogy quilt. Both events are FREE and taking place in the City of Ottawa Archives at 100 Tallwood Drive.
Aboriginal Family Festival – Taking place at the Raven’s Nest Gymnasium at Carleton University, this is the 20th annual festival celebrating the Ottawa Children & Youth Pow Wow. March 25 and 26 starting at 12 noon each day.
Versefest 2017 – Taking place all weekend, Versefest offers a number of events celebrating poetry. Events are $10 or you can purchase days passes for $25.
Purple Day – Taking place on Sunday from 2 to 4 at Ottawa City Hall, grab your family, friends, purple clothes and skates and join the City in celebrating purple day in support of epilepsy.
Green Renos – A free workshop takes place on March 28th at the Beaverbrook Ottawa Library branch on the benefits of doing environmentally friendly renovations. A wealth of information will be available here just in time for renovation season! From 7 to 8 pm.
