In like a lamb…out like a lion! I think that that applies to the real estate market too. Signs that the market is picking up:
Dinner is happening less regularly.
My phones need to be charged more often and I carry spare chargers with me
Gas stations see me much more often
Little bags of nuts in my car become travelling lunches
There is NO food in my house (except…thank goodness…for the Bryson Farms deliveries on Wednesdays)
Yesterday’s announcement that Ottawa is alive again with jobs and business ventures is the icing on the cake….it is going to be a good real estate year…with everyone happy. Prices are fair!
Be sure to check out this months events as there are some great ones. On our Facebook page at Evans Team Facebook Page has Free or Almost Free weekend activities. Be sure and check each Friday!
Have a great April!!
Chansons D’Avril – Concert by Diana Sharp & Sonja Plourde
On April 17, a past client and supporter of Evans Team Ottawa will be performing a concert of French Art songs spanning a century of music. “Beauty, humour and a touch of Cabaret….” are promised and we know she will not disappoint. Sultans of String Concert
You saw the Suntans of String last year here in private concert for our clients…now see them on April 14th at the NAC! This amazing Juno winning and multi-nominated band is exceptional and promises a great show!!!
2015 JUNO nominees and SiriusXM winners Sultans of String create “Energetic and exciting music from a band with talent to burn!” (Maverick Magazine UK). Thrilling their audiences with their genre-hopping passport of Celtic reels, flamenco, Gypsy-jazz, Arabic, Cuban, and South Asian rhythms, Sultans of String celebrate musical fusion and human creativity with warmth and virtuosity. Fiery violin dances with rumba-flamenco guitar, while bass and percussion lay down unstoppable grooves. Acoustic strings meet with electronic wizardry to create layers and depth of sound, while world rhythms excite audiences to their feet with the irresistible need to dance.
We have our vegetables delivered to us weekly from Bryson Farms (amazing vegetables)!! We have had delivery from them for almost 10 years now and continue to love it!! We actually find that it has saved us a lot of money:
There is no wastage in the vegetables as they are so fresh and last so much longer
We eat out less (not a good thing for all of my favourite restaurants…so sorry) as I know that we have so much food in the fridge to eat
And….we are much healthier for it!
By the end of the winter season though I am looking for creative ways to use my parsnips. Here is one of my favourite recipes that I wanted to share with you:
Maple roasted parsnips
5 lg parsnips cut into quarters, lengthwise
5.3 oz (150 g) maple syrup (OR if you are a Maureen….just go out to the backyard & get some!)
5.3 oz (150g )sherry vinegar
juice & zest of 1 orange
2-3 cinnamon sticks
Preheat oven to 375F (190c).
Toss the parsnips in enough olive oil to lightly coar and place on a baking tray with cinnamon sticks. Rost them in the oven for 20 min
Remove tray from oven and toss the parsnips with the vinegar & maple syrup, top with salt & orange zest & roast for another 15 min
Serve parsnips on a plate with fresly squeezed orange juice over them
