Festival season appears to be in full swing here in Ottawa with five major festivals happening this weekend! Read on for details and let us know which ones you will be attending.

TD Ottawa International Jazz Festival

This will be the 35th year for this popular festival and it kicks off on Thursday with a free concert on the mainstage at Confederation Park. The concert will feature Kaleidoscope Orchestra. Through the weekend the festival will host such popular acts as Lisa Fischer, The Root, Bruce Cockburn, Kenny Werner and Chris Botti.

Glow Fair 

Glow Fair is a 2 day FREE festival in the Bank Street, Slater Street and James Street area. This is a newbie festival in town and has activities celebrating light, music and creativity. Head over to listen to the buskers or participate in glow-in-the-dark yoga.

Amnesia Rockfest

This rock festival happens just an hour from Ottawa in Montebello and runs the whole weekend. It features heavy metal and rock performers including Linkin Park, Slayer and System of a Down.

Ottawa Fringe Festival

Beginning on Wednesday evening at the Arts Court and other downtown locations, this festival celebrates indie theatre and production. Plays will chosen randomly by a lottery and they cost $12 each.

Summer Solstice Aboriginal Arts Festival

This festival runs from Friday to Sunday at Vincent Massey Park. It gives everyone an opportunity to experience Aboriginal cultures of the Capital Region for Nation Aboriginal Day. Tons of FREE activities to choose from and a gorgeous marketplace with beautiful handmade pieces to buy.
